Cclxviii. the Oxidation of Adrenaline and Other Amines
نویسنده
چکیده
MAMMALIAN liver and other organs contain an enzyme which catalyses the oxidation of adrenaline. By testing the ability of this enzyme to oxidize other amines of similar constitution it was found that certain groups in the adrenaline molecule, namely (a) the hydroxyl group in the side chain, (b) the phenolic hydroxyl groups and (c) the N-methyl group, were not essential for the oxidation to take place [Blaschko et al. 1937, 1, 2]. This suggested that the enzyme might be identical with the tyramine oxidase described by Hare [1928]. Their identity became still more probable when it was found that the reactions catalysed by these enzymes are chemically very similar, being in each case an oxidative

The formation of singlet oxygen during oxidation of catechol amines as detected by infrared chemiluminescence and spectrophotometric method.
1 delta g----3 sigma-g near infrared chemiluminescence from the peroxidation reaction of dopa, dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline was measured. The spectrophotometric method based on the bleaching of p-nitrosodimethylaniline was applied to check the generation of singlet oxygen during oxidation of the above-mentioned catecholamines.
متن کاملComparing Adrenaline with Tranexamic Acid to Control Acute Endobronchial Bleeding: A Randomized Controlled Trial
Background: Hemoptysis occurs due to either pulmonary diseases or bronchoscopy interventions. The aim of the present study was to compare the efficacy of the endobronchial instillation of adrenaline with that of tranexamic acid. Methods: Fifty patients were randomly selected as 2 double-blinded sample groups (n=25). In these patients, bleeding could not be controlled with cold saline lavage dur...

Introduction: Various hemostatic and analgesic agents and techniques have been used to reduce intraoperative and postoperative hemorrhage and pain in tonsillectomy.Aims and objective; The current study aimed to compare the effect of using adrenaline plus tramadol and normal saline in maintaining hemostasis and control of pain in cold dissection tonsillectomy. Materials and Methods: This pros...
متن کاملSelective activation of noradrenaline and adrenaline producing cells in the cat's adrenal gland by hypothalamic stimulation.
BRtlCKE, Kaindl and Mayer 1 showed in 1952 that hypothalamic stimulation in the cat increased the adrenaline percentage of catechol amines in adrenal venous blood from about 11 per cent in the "resting" secretion to about 50 per cent. Since there is no consistent alteration in the adrenaline percentage during the increased secretion following carotid occlusion in the cat, the results of Briicke...
متن کاملOne-pot and one-step novel N-methylation of 2,6-diaminopyridine
2,6-diaminopyridine is extensively used as a pharmaceutical intermediate and a hair dye coupler as oxidation formulations. It is soluble in protic solvents. Primary and secondary amines are N-methylated by various methods such as direct alkylation of amines with Hofmann mechanism, but in many of these methods due to overalkylations, we earn a mixture of amino products. Consequently, they aren't...
